Documenting and visualizing life, unscripted, has been Katrin’s passion from very early on and is what led her to Moriah Films, the two-time Academy Award©-winning documentary filmmaking division of the Simon-Wiesenthal Center. She joined the team in 2006 for the production of “I Have Never Forgotten You: The Life and Legacy of Simon Wiesenthal” narrated by Nicole Kidman, which celebrated its international premiere in Katrin’s hometown at the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany. Since then she has co-produced the documentary features “Against The Tide” narrated by Dustin Hoffmann, “Winston Churchill: Walking With Destiny” narrated by Sir Ben Kingsley, “It Is No Dream”, featuring the voices of Christoph Waltz, Michael Douglas and Leonard Nimoy, “The Prime Ministers: The Pioneers” starring the voices of Leonard Nimoy and Sandra Bullock, and the upcoming “The Prime Ministers: Soldiers and Peacemakers.” As Moriah’s Co-Producer, Katrin heads the production and archival research departments, overseeing each film from concept to completion. She directs the production team, produces film shoots in Europe and Israel, conducts interviews, researches historical topics and licenses archival material. Using her unique knowledge of European cultures and languages (German, French, Spanish, Dutch), extensive journalistic experience, and excellent relationships with film and photo archives worldwide, she is in constant pursuit of the extraordinary and never-before-seen archival material and revealing interviews that are the hallmarks of Moriah Film’s productions.

Katrin holds a PhD in Psychology from Technische Universitaet, Berlin, and began her career as a psychologist in Germany and Central America (El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua). She went on to work as a journalist and television/film producer for international stations, channels and production companies such as Universal Television, Telepictures, SAT.1 and RTL. She worked as a consultant for new programming, produced news pieces, documentary-based short films and nationally syndicated game and talk shows in Germany and the U.S., as well as high profile red carpet, film festival and film market events for German Films Service + Marketing.

Katrin lives in Silverlake, Los Angeles, with her husband, Co-Producer and Editor Nimrod Erez, and their daughter Ella.
